What is an Independent Insurance Agent?

You might be wondering what an independent insurance agent does, as opposed to a captive insurance agent.

A captive insurance agent represents only one insurance company.  They are required to sell that insurance companies products and services, and only earn a commission if you purchase from their company.

An independent insurance agent (or broker) represents a variety of insurance companies, instead of working exclusively with one company.  This gives us the ability to quote and obtain prices for you from the insurance company best suited to your specific needs.
